As of May 11th, Kenya’s Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has suspended flights to and from Somalia for the next three months. Only humanitarian deliveries and medical evacuation flights will be allowed into the country. An exact reason for the suspension has not been given. Relations between the two countries have been strained lately. Last year, Somalia placed a ban on Kenyan khat that has yet to be lifted. The two nations are also in a maritime dispute that is currently before the International Court of Justice and awaiting a verdict.
