Spikizi Wine Bar

Live music and Lebanese food

Spikizi is a laid-back Lebanese restaurant and bar that sits at the old location of the infamous J’s. Anyone who’s been before will recognize the warm woody interior and sunny courtyard/dancefloor. Spikizi serves authentic Lebanese dishes prepared by a chef with over 15 years of experience developing Lebanese restaurants throughout East Africa.

Time to eat…

We recommend the hummus to start. It’s arguably the best in Nairobi and comes with a generous amount of Tahini (sesame paste). If you’re a meat-lover, go for the savory marinated lamb skewers called (meshwi on the menu). Prefer a vegetarian option? Then try the hummus and falafel. It will not disappoint.

And no matter how hungry you are, you have to order one of Spikizi’s oven-fired pizzas. Their pizzas are a perfect mixture of saucy, cheesy and the toppings are top-shelf.

The bar is also legendary. Spikizi serves premium wine selections straight from the Wines & Bubbles cellar, conveniently located in the courtyard. Selections range from chilled whites to luscious reds (photo). For those who aren’t sure how to pair wine with food, never fear, one of their talented servers will happily make recommendations.

In the mood for a cocktail? Their bartenders are skilled at crafting perfectly paired made-to-order drinks. ThisNairobi loves the sangria. So much more than the usual, Spikizi’s sangria is made to order and comes filled with cucumbers, oranges, and a strong pour. It’s refreshing and just sweet enough without being overpowering.

After dinner and drinks, you’ll certainly want to stay for a good time. Spikizi hosts karaoke nights on Friday nights has a live band on Saturdays, and DJ sets on Thursdays and Sundays.
