Who doesn’t love good gelato (Italian-style ice cream)? Bahati Gelateria, located on Watamu Beach Road, features delicious, homemade gelato selections and other special treats.

Upon arriving at Bahati, it’s clear that this creamery is a neighbourhood favorite. Children, families and couples on dates pour in throughout the day on the quest for a refreshing, sweet, treat and a brief respite from the blazing Indian Ocean sun.

One of Bahati’s classics is their (Sicilian-style) brioche ( a soft, flaky, buttery bread bun) gelato sandwich. Yes. You heard us. It’s brioche stuffed with gelato sprinkled with powdered sugar on top. And, to add to all the excitement, you get to pick one of twelve different gelato flavors to go in your sandwich. It’s truly the perfect desert and only costs 170KSH.

If you’re not feeling bread, you can order gelato a la carte. Care to spice up your ice cream? You have the option to eat your ice cream out of a nutella coated bowl (for 500KSH), or go for a traditional sundae.

Bahati is also open for breakfast. Breakfast options include a focaccia, ham and cheese sandwich a must-try because their focaccia is perfect. Top that off with a cappuccino or espresso, and you’re good to go.

And you’re ready for a coffee and want a little ice cream as well. Bahati has the perfect menu item for you, the affogato (freshly pulled espresso topped with ice cream).
